Road to Recovery

My recovery with Campbell has been much different than it was with the boys. The pregnancy was much different too. After a trip to the emergency room last week for high blood pressure....then being put on blood pressure medicine...then almost another trip to the ER to find out I have mastitis and a UTI...then again with my blood pressure dropping too low...along with healing from the c-section...I think it is safe to say now that I am finally starting to feel 'normal' again!  It has been a rough little stretch but I would go through it a million times over again for this precious girl!  She is so worth it all!

Campbell's Newborn Pictures - Sneak Peek

We spent the morning with an incredible local photographer, Melissa Wells, Sunday morning getting some newborn pictures of Campbell and some pictures of her with the boys.  She took some pictures for us a few years ago and we were excited to go back to her for Campbell's newborn session.

Campbell did GREAT and slept through the entire session!  I am LOVING all this pink!  She is the perfect caboose for our family!

Campbell Grace

Our precious Campbell Grace finally made her arrival Friday morning, May 17th, at 8:37am.  She weighs 8lbs and is 20 1/2 inches long.  We all are so in love with her!!!!  The boys can't get enough of her...including her daddy. It is the sweetest thing to see them all hold her, kiss her, sing to her...they just adore her! 

My incredible and talented friend, Grethel Van Epps, spent Friday with us capturing every detail of our sweet girl's birthday.  Here is a little sneak peek.  I can't say enough how thankful we are for her being there!

We will have a baby sister for these guys by tomorrow morning!!!

Luke and 'Ma-Q'

We found out a little over a month ago that one of Luke's best friends, Matthew...or as Luke has always called him, 'Ma-Q'....was moving away to Memphis.  Luke and Matthew have been in the same class for the past 2 years.  His dad got a job promotion and they were going to be moving pretty fast.  When I told Luke, he cried and cried.  He said, "I don't want to go to school anymore if Ma-Q won't be there!" 

 We were able to meet up with Matthew and his mom the day before they loaded up and moved away.  I'm so sad that they moved but I'm hoping that we will be able to stay in touch and visit each other often!

One of my favorite things about Luke is what a good friend he is.   He loves being with surrounded with friends.  I hope he always stays that way.  Good friends make life so much sweeter!   

7 More Days!

We thought (and hoped!) our Campbell was going to arrive today! I had my weekly doctor's appointment this morning and my blood pressure was high (160/96). The doctor sent me to the hospital to have some blood work taken and get hooked up to monitors for a few hours.  I loved getting to hear Campbell's heart beating so strong.  I was even having some contractions while I was there but nothing regular.

Thankfully I had this guy there to take good care of me!

 I ended up being sent home on bed rest :(  Boo!! I don't have time for bed rest! I go back to the doctor Thursday morning and will hopefully find out more but it looks like Campbell will be arriving on her scheduled c-section date, which is Monday (May 20th).  I am already further along with her than I was with all the boys.

I think the boys are starting to get impatient. They pray every morning that she will come that day. We have waited this long for her, we can wait 7 more days.  I know she will be well worth the wait! 

Mother's Day 2013

I am so thankful God chose me to be the mommy to these guys (and their sister)!  My heart is full!

We had a great day!  We went to the early service at church, where we got to see Jay's mom.  Then we had lunch with my mom and sister.

Sam's 9th Birthday

My big boy turned 9 on April 5th.  I still can't believe it!  Where did these years go?!  

It has become a little tradition keeping the boys home from school on their birthdays.  We had a fun day going to lots of Sam's favorite places....Krispy Kreme, Books-A-Million, Zaxby's (with daddy) and Airwalk.

 

That night, we went to eat dinner at Logan's with our family. He loves their rolls!

For his party with his friends, he wanted to go to the movies and watch Iron Man 3.  Since it didn't come out until May 3rd, he had to wait a while. On Saturday, we finally got to celebrate.  He had a great time with his friends.  It was a good movie...just a little more violent that the first 2.  I was hoping the boys wouldn't go home and have nightmares! ha!
