Days of the Week

We have been working with Eli on teaching him the days of the week and months of the year. Sam learned this catchy little days of the week song in preschool last year so he helped teach it to Eli.



Eli is so eager to learn. I love that about him! He told me the other day that he was ready to go to kindergarten. Don't rush things, buddy! I've had a hard enough time with Sam starting BIG school! Which, by the way, I will have a post on that later! I've got lots of pictures from his first day :)

Bed Head

I was in the bathroom getting ready this morning when I heard Eli cracking up in the other room. Sam had just gotten out of bed and woke up with this rockin' hairdo...


(I have NO idea why he does that pointing thing in pictures now! ha!)


Oh how we laughed! It still makes me laugh just to look at the picture!

Almost time for Kindergarten!

We went to meet Sam's teacher tonight at his school.


I can't believe my baby starts kindergarten in just 3 days! You can see above that he's pretty excited about it! As I was walking down the hallways at the school tonight, it brought back so many memories of when I was in elementary school and how much I loved it. Although I am a little nervous about him being away from me and super sad that he is growing up so quickly, I am also excited about this new chapter in his life. He is an awesome kid with an incredible heart. I pray that others see that in him.

I just love this kid so much! My cup runneth over!!

FINALLY!!

About a year or so ago, we saw a big sign in the entrance of our neighborhood that said "Pool coming soon." We were all so excited! WooHooo! A Pool!!! Months passed by and we were like "ok...when are they going to finish this pool?!" Then, another sign was posted "Pool Now Open." GREAT!!!! Then, we went to the gated pool and they were wrong...it wasn't open. Don't tease us like that, neighborhood people!! I stopped by the model home and asked the real estate agent on duty what was going on and she said that there was some sort of health code violation with the steps in the pool but they would have it opened soon. Then I hear almost daily these words coming from my backseat "Mom, is the pool open yet? Mom, can we drive by the pool to see if it is opened? Mom, can we stop by to see if the pool is open? Mom, WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO OPEN THE POOL?!" We FINALLLLLY got a letter in our mailbox this week that the POOL WAS NOW REALLY OPEN!!! YAY!!
Our nephew, Austin, is spending the weekend with us so what a perfect time to go for a swim.









Me and Little Squirt hung out on the sidelines. Since it's only been a little over a week since his surgery, I thought it would be a good idea to wait a little while before he gets in. He entertained himself playing peek-a-boo...

and munching on some goldfish crackers...

Big Brothers Are So Funny!

Luke Update

Thank you to all of you who have been praying for Luke. The surgery went well and my little trooper seems to be recovering so much better than I could have even hoped for. The catheter has been a bit challenging but he gets to have it removed on Thursday when we go back for a post-op visit. Until then...the doctor wants us to be pretty low-key and hang out at home.





On a completely different note...you may have noticed (my 3 faithful readers!) that I got a blog makeover. I designed all my blog headers before but it seemed that they always looked the same and I wanted something new and different. Jennisa at Once Upon A Blog did an awesome job! She's incredible!
